As the NFL Draft starts this coming Thursday, here are my predictions for the first round action. Check the Spectator website for the remaining 10 selections in the first round.

1) St. Louis Rams - Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma - The Rams need a quarterback, and it seems like Bradford is leading the race.

2) Detroit Lions - Gerald McCoy DT Oklahoma - The Lions seemingly only have two options here. They will either be looking for one of the stud DTs or Russell Okong to protect Matthew Stafford.

3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers -  Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraska - The best player in the draft would be a great add for any team, and the Buccaneers are  known to be looking at the top two DTs.

4) Washington Redskins - Russell Okong OT Oklahoma State - The Skins got their QB, and now it is time to protect him, and they are going to have to get better at both tackle positions if they want the fragile McNabb to stay on the field.

5) Kansas City Chiefs - Eric Berry S Tennessee - Berry is the biggest defensive player in this draft to some people, and the Chiefs are in a big need of a defensive playmaker.

6) Seattle Seahawks - Trent Williams OT Oklahoma - The Seahawks definitely need a lot of different help here, and their whole roster is in shambles.

7) Cleveland Browns - Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame - There is also talk that Holmgren is trying to put together a trade package to snag the number one overall from the Rams.

8) Oakland Raiders - Taylor Mays S USC - Al Davis has certainly made some interesting picks, which could be considered reaches, in the past couple of years, and Mays fits Al Davis’s profile of incredible athletes.

9) Buffalo Bills - Dan Williams DT Tennessee - This may be a bit of a reach, but Williams is such a versatile defensive lineman that can play NT or DE in a 3-4 set.

10) Jacksonville Jaguars -Derrick Morgan DE Georgia Tech - The Jaguars need to get back to their roots of having a strong defensive line that dominates in the trenches.

11) Denver Broncos - Rolondo McClain LB Alabama - The Broncos’ offense is solid enough, but the defense is aging and lacking a lot of depth.

12) Miami Dolphins - Sergio Kindle OLB Texas - I have a feeling that the Big Tuna was eying up Sergio Kindle for his 3-4 defense.

13) San Francisco 49ers - Joe Haden CB Florida - The 49’ers are in the best position in the draft, and with two high draft picks in the first half of the first round they have the ammunition to trade up to get a better draft pick.

14) Seattle Seahawks - Jason Pierre - Paul DE South Florida -Patrick Kerney retired, and they needed to look for someone to replace him before that. Now, it is an even more dire need.

15) New York Giants - Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma State - The Giants really missed Burress last season, and Bryant would be a great replacement.

16) Tennessee Titans - Brian Price DT - UCLA - The Titans defense has struggled since big Albert Haynesworth left for Washington.

17) San Francisco 49’ers - Brian Bulaga OT Iowa - Bulaga is an absolute mauler in the run game that Frank Gore will love to be behind. Running on the outside has been a slight problem for San Francisco in the past.

18) Pittsburgh Steelers - Kyle Wilson CB Boise State - Wilson is a corner that has shown the ability to play in either man or zone, and he would fit perfectly in the Steelers zone system.

19) Atlanta Falcons - Sean Witherspoon OLB Missouri -Witherspoon has a great all around game. He can play the run, play the pass and even get after the quarterback.

20) Houston Texans - Patrick Robison CB Florida State - They lost Dunta Robinson, who has been one of their best playmakers through the past couple of seasons, and they will definitely need to replace him.
