Edinboro's enrollment rates skyrocketed, making them the highest they've ever been.

Last year's rates were around 8,200 and have risen to around 8,700, making it an increase of roughly 300 students.

"It's a good problem to have," said Amy Neil, Assistant Vice President for Communications and Marketing. Knowing about the increase now lets the campus prepare for more increases of students. "We know the data in these rankings often lag behind, so, although it was again welcome news, it wasn't a surprise," President Jeremy Brown said.

Certain issues such as, "Will there be enough parking?," "Will class size increase?," and "Is there enough housing?" shouldn't be a problem.

According to Neil, a group of faculty, staff, and students are currently studying the parking situation. She added a class size increase shouldn't be noticeable because the university has done everything to make sure it won't happen, even adding more available classes for the students to take and hiring more professors.

Some reasons for this enrollment rate increase may be because of the cost of tuition at Edinboro. "It's quality education, but not at a high cost value," said Neil. "You get the Edinboro experience," she added, "with hands on learning and opportunities which make Edinboro special."

Also, getting the word out about Edinboro's successes could be a factor the enrollment rates through alumni and marketing. "The word is out there that Edinboro is the place to be," commented Neil.
