Officials have declared new plans for the Tim Hortons and Coldstone Creamery that was going to open jointly this spring at the site of the former Dairy Queen, located at 201 W. Plum Street.

David Morelli, director of public affairs for Tim Hortons, said that it might be until the second half of the year until the business will be opening.

“A building permit was issued in early January. However, since that time the company decided to go back to the drawing board and plan an addition to the existing building, “ said John Groh, the building and zoning code administrator for the Borough of Edinboro.

“It appears they did an updated market analysis and discovered they need additional seating, hence the reason for the addition.”

Groh said that the rumors of Tim Hortons deciding not to come to Edinboro are false. He doesn’t expect the re-issuing of the building permit to take long.
