The Edinboro Inn Resort and Conference Center is now offering eight rooms to students for $1,250 per semester.
This is the first time rooms are being offered per semester to students in four years.
Malik Mehboob, manager of the Edinboro Inn, said that the demand is very high about expanding to more than eight rooms, and the possibility is still in consideration.
At the Edinboro Inn, "innovating, renovations, and a lot of improvements are going on," said Mehboob.
This new offer for students is part of the innovations happening at the Inn.
"A special discount of $10 is available on room rates to all families and participants of any Edinboro University event or activity," Malik said. "(The Edinboro Inn has the) best and most reasonable rates to students and their families."
Of the four room types, guest room, presidential suite, captain suite and executive suite, only the guest room is being offered to students to rent for a semester; utilities are included in the initial price.
Part of the new renovations underway at the inn includes new furniture, carpeting, and a lot of new things, said Mehboob. "It's a unique place to live and it's an affordable off-campus alternative."
When informed about the new deal being offered to students, Charles Charney, an Edinboro University junior, who is currently living on campus, said, "It's another opportunity for students to live off campus."
The Edinboro Inn has been in business since 1974 and has been accommodating Edinboro University since then, although they provide service for golfers more than any other group of guests.
The Edinboro Inn also offers complimentary wireless Internet access, specially adapted handicap-accessible rooms, smoking and non-smoking rooms, vending machines, and coin-operated laundry facilities.
The rooms also feature a key-card security system, work desk, 25-inch TVs with more than 60 channels, voicemail, air conditioning, safe deposit boxes and copier and fax service.
Upon request there are microwaves, mini-refrigerators, baby cribs, coffee makers and other hotel services.
Available for students, the standard guest rooms are come with either a king bed or two double beds.
The presidential suites feature one king bed, built-in bar and a separate sitting room.
The captain suites have two double beds and a balcony overlooking the Inn's indoor pool.
The executive suite is the same as the captain suites, except that it has one king bed instead of two double sized beds and a built-in bar.
