The Edinboro lacrosse team suffered two loses during the past week, bringing their current losing streak to seven games.

The Scots suffered a 16-6 defeat at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) on April 16.

The Crimson Hawks jumped to an 8-2 lead at the half. IUP scored the first two goals of the game, but Jen Monaco's goal at 23:55 cut the margin in half to 2-1. The Fighting Scots would go scoreless for over 12 minutes as IUP tacked on four goals to take a 6-1 lead. Jolerne Quinta scored at 11:23 to make it 6-2, but IUP would score the final two goals of the half.

IUP opened the second half with four straight goals for a 12-2 lead. Edinboro would answer with back-to-back goals in less than thirty seconds. Quinta scored her second goal at 15:50, and Abbsey Mackessy dented the net at 15:30 to make it 12-4.

That would be as close as Edinboro would get as IUP scored the next three goals for a 15-4 lead. Mackessy and Monaco would finish the scoring for the Scots, with Mackessy assisting on Monaco's goal.

On April 18, Edinboro put a scare into Kutztown University but came up short in a 19-9 loss to the Golden Bears. The loss was the seventh straight for the Fighting Scots as they fell to 3-10 in their first season. Kutztown improved to 2-13.

The two teams battled back and forth for much of the first half before Kutztown scored with just over three minutes remaining for a 7-6 lead at the half. After the Golden Bears opened the scoring with a goal just over a minute into the game, Edinboro answered with a pair of goals. Julie McAvoy tied it at 1-1 at 27:28 and Jolene Quinta gave the Scots a 2-1 lead at 25:56.

Kutztown scored the next three goals for a 4-2 lead, but Edinboro came back with a pair of goals to knot the score at 4-4. Abbey Mackessy accounted for the first goal at 20:03, and Lauren Kincaid followed with a goal at 11:48 as the two teams went over eight minutes without scoring. The score was tied for the last time at 6-6 when Mackessy scored her third goal at the 3:47 mark.

Kutztown would outscore the Fighting Scots, 12-3, over the final 30 minutes. The Golden Bears opened the second half with five straight goals for a 12-6 lead before Kincaid scored her second goal with 18:21 remaining. Kutztown scored five of the next six goals to grab a 17-8 lead.

Mackessy and Kincaid led Edinboro with three goals apiece.
